I travel to Napoli each year. I am very lucky to have many friends there that have taught me about the city.
On my flights over; I’ve spoken to many tourists that are going to the Amalfi Coast, to Pompeii… In every case none of them thought of seeing of Napoli. To them; it was just a place they had to get to first.
Even worst, they believed Napoli to be a very dangerous place. Certainly it is a city and one must be attentive but no more attentive than one should be in any big city.
I think this is very sad, there are so many wonderful things to see and do, and the food… Napoli gave the world pizza and the pizza in Napoli is very special!
The Cappella Sansevero (also known as the Cappella Sansevero de’ Sangri or Pietatella) is a chapel located on Via Francesco de Sanctis 19, just northwest of the church of San Domenico Maggiore, in the historic center of Naples, Italy.
Inside this little chapel you can see one of the world’s most remarkable marble sculptures, The Veiled Christ (Italian: Cristo velato) by Giuseppe Sanmartino in 1753.
One of my favorite painters is Caravaggio. Here is his“Sette opere di Misericordia” (Seven Works of Mercy).
It is still on display in the church for which it was created, Pio Monte della Misericordia in Naples. Pio Monte della Misericordia is located at Via dei Tribunali, 253, in the heart of Naples’ historic center.

Next time you are in Italy, go to Napoli!
